School History

Sekolah Menegah Kebangsaan Subang Utama or which was formerly known as Sekolah Menengah Subang Jaya 2, started construction in the year 1987 and was completed in the month of October of year 1989. The first semester of school started on the 4th of December 1989. Most students who attended this school were from SS 18, Subang Jaya. At that time, the primary school Sekolah Kebangsaan SS19 occupied the school too as theirs were still under construction.

SMK Subang Utama was built over an area of approximately 13 acres with 3.9 acres used up for the school field, the assembly place, the canteen, six school blocks which are Anggerik, Bakawali, Cempaka, and Dahlia, a living skills workshop and a computer lab. In the year 2000, the 5th block was built to temporarily accomodate the increasing number of students in the school. In December 2004, the school hall, which is also known as Dewan Sumbangsih was built and is now filled with many useful infrastructures.
